Welcome to 2016

We hope that you and your family had an enjoyable holiday season.  As we begin 2016, no one can predict with certainty what new changes or challenges may occur. Nothing that happens in the market on the first few days of trading in a new year surprises us anymore. Over the years, we have found that sometimes market action in the first few days of the New Year reflects a lot of pent-up repositioning by portfolio managers. This repositioning can result in significant volatility during the first week of January, and the market can act very different in the first week of January than it did in the last week of December. As we move towards the middle of January this repositioning should be behind us and we can start to get an idea as to how 2016 is shaping up...
